New from WhatCounts will be learning opportunities provided through DreamSeeDo. These courses are designed to give you a well-rounded knowledge of who we are at WhatCounts and the amazing things you can do with our technology. Each course varies in length, depending on subject matter, and courses are designed to be easy to follow tutorials that give you a thorough understanding on how to use WhatCounts to optimize your customer communications.

This first course provides you with an introduction and overview of our platform in terms of managing your lists, subscribers, and campaigns. There are nine steps included, each with detailed instructions to help you out. To start off, you’ll learn how to access the platform and navigate the user interface. When learning how to access the platform, you’ll also learn how to reset passwords and add a new administrator.

You’ll also learn how to impersonate another account. If your account is structured as a parent/child hierarchy and your administrator permissions are set as a private label admin, then you can impersonate a child account from the parent account.

Once you’ve covered the basics, you’ll delve into lists. You’ll begin with list definitions, which define the properties required for deploying an email message. You’ll learn how to create a list definition step-by-step as well as how to synchronize the properties of a list created from a specific list definition. Both written instructions and a video are provided in this step to help you out.

You’ll then learn how to create lists. Subscribers are essentially associated to a list through subscriptions, and a subscriber may be subscribed to one or more lists. Lists allow you several options to manage your subscribers. Our platform supports three types of lists: normal, seed, and super.

  • A normal list includes the basic list properties and subscriptions.
  • A seed list has similar properties to a normal list but only allows a limited number of subscribersin this case, 25.
  • A super list is a collection of normal lists. It uses the separate list properties and subscriptions for each normal list. This allows you to deploy one large campaign to a wider audience without the need to deploy each list separately.

After covering lists, you’ll move on to learning how to manage and import subscribers. We identify a subscriber in our platform by first name and email address. Subscriber data is stored in a table and while their data lives in that table, they must be “subscribed” to a list in order to send them an email.

Our platform supports a number of different fields such as first name, last name, address, company and phone. If you’ll be storing any subscriber data outside of these fields (like date of birth) you’ll need to create a custom field, and this course will show you how.

Before an email is sent to a subscriber list, it should first be sent to a test recipient or a group of test recipients to check the content and rendering of the template. In this course, you’ll learn step-by-step how to send a test list message.

Before you can deploy a normal campaign, you must create a list, add subscribers, and create a template. You’ll learn how to do just that and deploy your campaign. Through our platform, you can also verify how many of your subscribers will actually see your campaign. Finally, learn how to schedule a normal campaign to all or some subscribers with the Schedule Campaign Wizard.

That’s everything you can expect to be taught in this course. Try it out for yourself, and you’ll be an expert on how to use our platform for your email marketing needs.
