Now Hiring – Strategist

WhatCounts Strategists work directly with the Manager of Strategic Services to identify and implement email marketing strategies for a wide range of clients. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated learner interested in emerging trends in digital marketing, and be able to present strategies based on those trends in a confident and knowledgeable manner to high level executives. Strategists must possess the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple disciplines (Sales Team, Account Managers, etc.), and work on several projects simultaneously without losing focus.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a marketing or business analyst role; expertise with email marketing and/or social media marketing preferred
  • BA or BS in Business, Marketing or related field
  • A strong understanding of marketing principles and research techniques. Knowledge of reputable online marketing resources helpful
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and high personal quality expectations
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with a demonstrated work ethic and ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact with c-level (CEO, CMO, etc.) clients with excellent business acumen and consultative charisma
  • Experience with and knowledge of website analytics (experience with Google Analytics and Ominture a plus)
  • Intermediate to advanced level PowerPoint and Excel user; able to analyze data sets, create pivot tables and format presentations quickly, macro creation a plus
  • Must be able to interact with a wide variety of personalities with a high level of professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert for email/digital marketing best practices
  • Participate in discovery calls with sales staff in order to qualify leads for Strategic Planning services
  • Engage directly with the sales and account management teams. Must become comfortable and competent speaking to the scope and pricing for other service engagements, such as Creative, Campaign Production and Deliverability; all service teams support each other to maintain/grow service lines together
  • Provide tactical and measurable recommendations on topics including creative, deliverability, list hygiene, privacy, segmentation, content, etc. combined as a comprehensive email program strategy
  • Write or repurpose Project Brief and Statement of Work (SOW) contracts for each client engagement
  • Perform in-depth discovery of client’s business, competitors and industry to gather competitive intelligence that will inform overarching email program strategy
  • Setup project schedules and manage timelines for projects to ensure deliverables are produced on time and delivered at a quality level that is second to none

Compensation

Base Salary + Bonus Opportunities commensurate with experience and execution
