Fiddlesticks. I just deployed a massive campaign to half a million subscribers and the landing page link is broken.
We’ve all had the classic “oops” moment at some point in our career as an email marketer. Whether you have accidentally inserted an extra symbol in your call-to-action URL or embedded a broken link altogether, there’s nothing quite like that sinking feeling in your stomach the moment you realize your mistake. You wish that you could turn back the clock, hit the back button, or simply ask for a do-over. Unfortunately for most email programs, none of those actions are realistic or possible…Unless, of course, you’re using WhatCounts.
In case you missed our recent product release for our Publicaster platform, one of our nifty new features is the ability to edit links within an email after the message has already been deployed. From the moment that you realize that you have made a mistake, simply hop onto Publicaster and pull up the email campaign you just sent. Within a few clicks of the mouse, you can easily update the link within your template to re-route subscribers to the correct page before anyone can even notice. Hurrah!
While obviously nothing can beat the power of a good proofread before you hit the send button, it’s nice to know that there’s a contingency plan in place to avoid those awful “egg on your face” situations. Also, it slightly defeats the purpose of sending your beautifully crafted email campaign if subscribers cannot access your landing page or enjoy the content that served the purpose for your send in the first place. If you’re already using Publicaster, we highly recommend trying this feature out for yourself by deploying a test send. If you have any trouble navigating the feature or would like for us to walk you through it, don’t hesitate to hit us up. We’d love the chance to get to show you what we do best!
